Group Extended Medical Benefit Endorsement .........This Endorsement is attached to and forming a part of the Group Hospital & Surgical Supplementary Contract in order to compensate an insured member for his hospitalization expenses as a result of sickness or injury in excess of the maximum amount usually covered by the Supplementary Contract to which this Endorsement is attached. Coverage .........The benefit shall be provided when an insured member shall have either   (a) been confined in a hospital for a period in excess of thirty - one (31) days; or   (b) undergone a surgical operation for which at least seventy - five percent (75%) of the maximum benefit is payable under the aforementioned Supplementary Contract.              Furthermore, reimbursement for any Room & Board expenses under this Endorsement shall be covered only if such expenses incurred subsequent to the period covered by the Supplementary Contract and the amount of reimbursement will be the actual charge but not exceeding 80% of the maximum Daily Room & Board stated in the Supplementary Contract. Benefit            Subject to the above conditions, AIA shall reimburse an insured member for 80% of the hospitalization expenses in excess of the maximum amounts payable under the Supplementary Contract provided that such reimbursement shall not exceed the maximum benefit per any one disability stated in the Schedule of this Endorsement (e.g. Maximum Benefit Per Any Disability = 200 times Daily Room & Board Benefit but not to exceed Bht. 300,000.-) Exclusion All the exclusions as provided in the Group Hospital & Surgical Supplementary Contract Treatment caused directly or indirectly wholly or partly by AIDS or AIDS related contact or any HIV.
